Connecting to mariaDB from Foundry

Hi, i'm trying to connect my mariaDB from Foundry but I keep receiving this error:
"Test connection failed with error : Failed to load class of driverClassName [org.mariadb.jdbc.Driver] in either of HikariConfig class loader or Thread context classloader".

I have a local mariaDB that I'm trying to link, but it seems like the problem starts from the mariaDB Driver.

Hi Jonathan,

Where is your Volt Foundry in your network? Are you sure your Foundry can reach "localhost"? I think you need to use the Maria DB network domain name in order for Foundry to reach it.

Sorry I didn't get the answer very well. In any case, I think the problem is in the first line when I try to load the mariaDB Driver (as shown in the error at the bottom of the screen). But I don't know what else to put other the "org.mariadb.jdbc.Driver".

Hi Jonathan,

Please try your setup using the "MySQL" driver (e.g. com.mysql.jdbc.Driver). In the DB Connection URL, either use the IP address of the DB host or its domain name, avoid using "localhost". Let's see if that will work. The URL path should be: "jdbc:mysql://<mariadb-host>:<db-port>".

In addition to Dai's comment, what version is the Maria db? Also, can you connect if you remove "test"?:

jdbc:mariadb://localhost:3306

or

jdbc:mariadb://<IP address>:3306

The version is 11.4.0, and no I can't connect because the problem is in the first step, the step before where I load the mariaDB Driver. (as shown in the error message at the bottom of the screen)

It could be a version issue. We currently support MariaDB 10.3.13 and MariaDB 10.2 for Foundry 9.2, and MariaDB 10.3.13 for Foundry 9.5.
