Subject: lookup of users not working
Hi,
I created the email profile. I followed the steps you mentioned as well as the ones provided in the below link. Still am not able to do a lookup for user names or with email address form domino.
BlackBerry Public Knowledge Base http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/viewdocument.do?externalId=KB30192&sliceId=2&cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&noCount=true&ViewedDocsListHelper=com.kanisa.apps.common.BaseViewedDocsListHelperImpl
Please let me know if there is any other step to allow lookup from domino.
Thanks.
Subject: User lookup from Domino
Hi,
By user lookup from domino you mean the domain search from the device? So your connection Device - Server is mostly working?
Otherwise, please keep in mind, that there is no lookup from domino in BES. All your user information is from MS Active Directory. If you are unable to create user accounts on BES, because you cannot lookup the users in the directory, please check your Active Directory configuration in the BlackBerry Administration Service.
Best regards,
Manuel
Subject: More info needed
Hello,
Please describe your problem in more detail. This is not the place to describe the whole process of configuring an deploying.
The only thing, I found a bit harder was the connection to Traveler, because it is not self explanatory (and not explained very well) that you need to create “email profiles”. Those profiles have to be assigned to users or user groups.
Such an email profile defines the connection information to your Traveler server.
When configuring, you find the connection URL on the Traveler Tab of your Domino Server Document. Make sure not to enter the domain, for this is only relevant for Exchange servers. If you are coming from BES 5 make sure to remember that all user information is coming from your Active Directory. Which means that the username for your Traveler server is coming from the email field in AD. If this field is not correct user authentication will not work. You can manually overwrite it in the BAS user configuration, though.
Once the email profile is deployed to the device, the user is asked for his passwort for the Traveler server.
Regards,
Manuel
