Comparing database name

Hi,

i have been trying to obtain the database name so that i can make a comparison in the formula window: My idea is :

1.mail has reached ReceiverA;

2.Some code to check if the ReceiverA’s database Name is identical to some predefined name.

  1. Then perform hiding of the action button.

Ok the point is:

  1. can @Command([FileOpenDatabase]) retrieve the name of the database which ReceiverA used to read the received mail? if so is the following code correct?

@Command([FileOpenDatabase], servername,) = “RName”

Many thanx in anticipation.

Regards,

hengshi

I don’t understand what you’re trying to do.

It sounds like you want to write a hide formula for an action button. The action button is in a user’s mail file. You want to display or hide the action based on the name of the mail file the current user is in. I’m not sure what you mean by the “name” of the database.

@DbName and @DbTitle return values which you might think of as names. Please consult the Domino Designer documentation for details.

@Command([FileOpenDatabase]) does not return a database name or title, as you could easily find out by trying it. I think you need to read about what this command does. You could not use it in an action button hide formula – it doesn’t make any sense. Hide formulas can only find out information – not do things like open databases.

I wonder why you would want to do this test. If you say more about what you are trying to accomplish, we might be able to suggest better ways.
