Community layouts in Connections 8

I installed a new Connections 8 WebSphere only environment and did a side by side migration from a Connections 7 installation and I'm having some questions that have to do with the new UI.

All communities in the migrated environment have a 2-column layout with the menu on the left. In Connections 8, when I for example open a forum topic, the menu is gone. No easy way to navigate back to the community. This is seriously unhandy. I looked at https://preview.hclconnections.net and there this problem does not occur. What could be the reason for the disappearing menu in migrated communities?

Why does the only way to change the layout of a community seem to be the "Add Apps" button? That doesn't really make sense?

I have some problems with this button. That's my 3rd question. Anyone an idea how to solve this?

To be clear, the bottom part of the dialog isn't accessible.

When I edit the community, there's a new menu option: PDF Export Access. However, clicking it gives me this:

I would be that administrator. Does anyone know what is needed to enable this option? I can export a pdf from a standalone wiki, so ic360 seems to be working.

Hi Martijn,

Thank you for your input in this.

Customizing the Highlights page
As stated in the documentation, it was already implemented before that highlights replaces the Overview.:

Highlights page is now the standard landing page for new communities, and is even easier to lay out and customize. Easily add widgets from the traditional Overview page as well as

If you have not installed the full feature of the HCL Connections Extension Toolkit (ICXT), this could be a reason.

Thanks for your elaborate answer. I'm surprised by the first, as this is a blocking issue for me and I can't imagine this wasn't noticed earlier. Was this a regression in CR4? The URL regretfully doesn't work for me, so I can't see what's in the KB article.

Hi @Ariel Lazaro , could you double check the link to the technote?

Hi,

Looks like some formating issue with the ampersand.
