I am using 8.5.1 on Snow Leopard 10.6.2. Intermittently, and I mean every couple of hours, I get ‘Remote System not responding’, on many occasions when I get this I still get new mail and the unread marks count is incremented and I can see the sender and subject line in the Inbox view but if I try and double click the new mail I get the message that the server replica is no longer available. The only way out of this os to exit and reload the client and then I will be OK for another few hours. This has been happening for several months and so I cannot vouch that it has only happened since I upgraded to SL. The OSX console shows the following message on at least some of the occasions this happens WARNING Connection to the server has been lost ::class.method=SyncDriverExtension.getSyncService() ::thread=Worker-33 ::loggername=com.ibm.openactivities.client.common

OK, I will give this a try. By the way its much quicker than the standard client!
Subject: Basic Client
So far after 4 days the problem has not occurred with the basic client.
Subject: Some info we need when you meet this issue
When you meet this error again, open Activity monitor, and choose Lotus Notes entry and double click it.
We need 2 things:
-
Notes’s opened port, you can find from
-
Open Files and Ports, you can find from and copy the context and paste them for us
Subject: Open Files and Ports
I have replicated the problem in the full client but the ports varied between 790 and 800 when viewed in Activity Monitor. I have the Open Files and Ports information in a text file but do not know how to attach it to this post?

Any response from IBM on this?
Subject: Comms Issues 8.5.1 on Snow Leopard
I have installed 8.5.1 FP1 today and I still have this problem. If the problem occurs whilst I am accepting a meeting invite then the invite is removed from my Inbox but DOES NOT appear in my Calendar. So, rather than an annoyance this is now a major bug as far as I am concerned.

This has now been solved by a clean install of 8.5.1 followed by 8.5.1FP1
