Column - % formula based on other column value

I have searched this extensively in previous version, anyone has any sample solution in version 7?

Two columns , column 1 is total production, column 2 is total cost, column 3 is percentage of total / production,i.e column 2 divided by column 1.

I read it might can be done via programmatic name in column, but not quite sure how to achieve this.

Really appreciates any one to share. tqvm.

If you give the columns names (or use the default $xx), then yes you can use those names in following columns, as it they were fields on the document.

Except that if the columns are really totals, then you’re not going to get a percentage of the totals. That’s because the formulas are not evaluated on total rows; they just calculate a total of what appeared on the document rows.

But I can use @sum than? Is it @sum(TotalCost)/@sum(TotalProd), but how does domino knows to get value of TotalCost from the column in front, is it I have to rename the column field to $$TotalCost

Subject: RE: Column - % formula based on other column value

So, can it be done in domino 7, my documents have the field total cost for particular category, the other one is total production number for the same category. So in my view, I have documents sorted by category, with totals value selected for the column. for the percentage, I need to know by category only. So can I do this by putting the formula TotalCost/TotalProd, but how will my column knows that the value to be selected is from the column value earlier, not to check it from the form. I try to search the help, but the explanation and examples not quite clear to me.

No - this only applies to document-level rows. Note’s won’t do that sort of thing with Categories.
