We are running Connections 7 and like to update the Component Pack version. With CNX8 HCL has also released a new version for the Component Pack.
Is there somewhere an official Support Statement that Connections 7 supports the new version of the Component Pack?
Currently I do not see anything in the documentation of Connections 7, which reflects the new Component Pack version.

That’s a good question. Currently, only the CNX8 system requirements table shows that the old components (like Elastic Search) that were required for Component Pack 7 are no longer supported. Conversely, whether CNX7 is supported with the new components required for Component Pack 8 is not in the CNX7 system requirements. In this regard, the CNX7 system requirements documentation would also have to be adjusted. But I would always upgrade both components (CNX Core and Component Pack) to the new version. So you can be sure that it has been tested and works.

Our customer is complaining about vulnerabilities within the Component Pack. We opened a Case and got the response, that with CNX8 a new version of CP will be published and we got the impression this version can be used by CNX7 and CNX8.
The customer does not like to update CNX7. So currently we do not know how to solve the problem with the vulnerabilities.
