Clipboard content reset after stopping notes

I’ve seen this behaviour in several Notes workstations (from 5 to 7).I start Notes, then I copy something from Notepad for example, and when Notes is closed the clipboard content is reset to empty…

Thanks Ben, however a security feature would be if the content of the clipboard is Notes related data (like a document lnk), but if the context is for example TEXT then it should remain untouched…

Actually, it is very hard to know what might be secure data and what might now. I might have copied the contents of a highly secure rich text field, or a table of salaries, or a password. In any case, whether we agree or not, my understanding is that Lotus (long before IBM) saw this as a security feature and nobody has seen fit to change it since. Honestly, I think it is probably a good idea to wipe it the way they do, but I change my mind every time I lose stuff from the clipboard that I wanted. I guess it could be a preference, but there are too darn many of those already.

The copy in Notes/exit Notes/intend to paste into (fill in the blank)/no clipboard content deal has bugged me for quite a while. At least I know why after reading this thread. It even makes sense.

I’m disappointed, however, that there isn’t a toggle for this…

Oh, well. It’s easy enough to go back, lol.
