Our company employs a UNIX file server that allows users to have a “roaming” capability and move from one client to another. We store a users data files, notes id, etc. They connect to this directory using an NFS link.
When users open the client on more than one machine, they often run into a problem that locks them out from using the Notes client. The only solution is to copy their data directory to a different location and then copy it back. Although this works, it is unrealistic to have the HelpDesk do this every time.
IBM claims that this is an unsupported implementation and recommends to use Lotus roaming capability.
Has anyone come across this, and more importantly, know how to resolve this?
