Chronos Task - can it be disabled?

Domino/Notes Version: 12.0.2
Operating System: Windows 11 Enterprise

Problem/Query:
A test server has started crashing 3-4 times a week, having previously been stable for a long time. No configuration has changed to my knowledge. The only pattern I can see is that before the crash the hourly FT indexing task has always run not very long before. It is not always the last thing that happened, but it is always there in the last few lines of the console log. Could be a coincidence, but to eliminate it I would like to disable the Chronos task for a few days and see what happens. Unlike most tasks it is not controlled by the notes.ini, though.

Can I turn it off? How?

Hi Andrew,

To temporarily disable the Chronos task, add the following parameter to the server’s notes.ini file and restart the server:

Debug_Disable_Chronos=1

Please note that the Chronos task performs hourly updates to full-text indexes. Therefore, disabling it is not recommended as a long-term solution.

If you need further assistance in determining the issue, we recommend opening a support case and uploading the necessary logs for review.

Thank you.

Thank you. We have, in fact, opened a support case. As you say, turning off Chronos is a purely diagnostic measure. I do not intend to keep it that way, but it may tell us something.
