I’m getting a serious problem in my company with Notes ID’s password. I have a Domino Server 6.5.1, clients Lotus Notes 6.5.1 and users with template 6.0.3 yet. All my users are using the new R6 feature “Roaming Users” and it’s worsk as well. I use too Lotus Notes Single Logon and so if the AD (Active Directory) and Notes ID password are similar, the Notes client don’t prompt the password again. This works very well too.
My problem is when I change the password at first in AD and then a open the Notes Client.
Look at the scnearios below, before I migrate to 6.5.1 and after migrated.
Scenario 1: (Domino and Client 6.5)
AD password and ID password is the same, works fine. If I change the password at Notes, it’s prompted to me type the AD’s password and then they’re both sinchronized.
If I change the AD password at first, when I entered at Notes shows me a warning telling the password are not the same and I have to change mannualy. I changed and works ok.
Scenario 2: (Domino and Client 6.5.1)
If a change password at Notes its works fine similar scenario1.
BUT… IF I change the AD password first, when I open my Notes Client don’t prompt to me a password. By the way the AD and ID password now it’s not the same, but the single logon still works until I roaming to another computer. And if a try to logon with my Notes Client in another computer, when my roaming profile is ceated and my password prompted , if a type the new one didn’t work… only works the old one, even if I replicate my roaming files in the computer I’ve changed the password.
Please someone help me… I have to find a solution to this problem !!!
