Change Home/Mail server name

Since our company had changed the name, the internet domain was changed accordingly. We have to plan the change in the Home/Mail server as well. I have learnt from IBM help centre that Domino server is not allowed to change it unless to build the server again. Can someone confirm it.

If so, can someone share your past experience/best practice in re-building the server and migrate the old one to the new one.

Your advice is highly appreciated.

Are you talking about the Mail server field of the Person document?

Thanks for your reply. No, I am not talking about the Person document.

For example, we fill Asia/IBM in that field. In internal communication, the email address might be FirstName.LastName/IBM@IBM. Now, the name has to be changed to CN/Leveno and FirstName.LastName/Leveno@Leveno.

For external customers, we have changed the internet domain in the server document, i.e., FirstName.LastName@Leveno.com and it works correctly.
