I have a notes form that sends out notifications to users at a press of a button.
The users would like to see the memo (email) in a different color (or with a flag). I understand that 6.0.1 does not have this sort of feature. Is this correct ? Any workarounds?

Have you upgraded the design of the mail file? You have to be using the mail6.ntf template to see the colors option.
This option is a per user setting and the other problem with this is that it is based upon the senders name. This will make all e-mails from that sender in that color.
I think what you want to do is to create a custom mail template and add a column that if the subject is the same as the subject that is sent in the e-mail then put an icon in that column. You may want to just add the code to the column that shows if there are file attachments.

The mail file is pretty old and I have no control of what the users are using.
Rather than messing with mail template, I resorted to using _ViewIcon and used a red dot.
