I have a strange problem with two clients…
We have a database where we have a view with a standard category in the first column and the property “Collapse all…” has been disabled.
I (and most other users) has no problems with this view - it displays as it should, but two users will not see the category (and the twisties) - it displays flat. The columnheading for the category column is visible, but no categories are displayed.
Anyone knows where to start looking for a solution for this?
I can’t recreate the problem and it is only found on two clients.
I’ve tried to remove the cache-file on the clients, compact the workspace, update all views with ctrl+shift+F9, remove the db-icon from workspace - compact - and then put it back.
Nothing works.

There is probably a column which is “click sortable”
The two clients have probably clicked the column heading to sort - thsi will make the categories disappear

Thank You! It was exactly that. I didn’t realize that there was a single click-sortable column in that view; The column was placed last and was not visible with their screen resolution so I never saw that they had sorted the view…
How simple things can be and still cause a real mess when You look at all the wrong places…

If the column isn’t on the screen, then you don’t stand a fighting chance!!!
Users! Wouldn’t life be a more simple place without them?

If the column is not shown on the screen, isn’t that a design fault?
Subject: RE: Ehrm…
The application was designed for computers with resolution of 1024 or more, but we found that a couple of users ensisted on using 800x600 and that made a couple of columns to the right to be visible only by using the horizontal scrollbar…
So, it wasn’t a design fault - only user error!

In that case I concur with Mike
