Catch mail response

We have a nationwide sales staff who are allocated work by location (Zip code or postcode) and product knowledge. For some products (those with appointments that are pre-booked) they need to confirm availability. Usually they respond to the email to the member of staff who allocates the work. They then have to manually allocate the job to the salesperson.

I want to be able to catch their response and use it to assign the job automatically.

We can train the salesperson to respond to a mail in database with a one word response and then pick this up with an agent but I’d rather send the email with a two button choice of “Yes” or “No”. “Yes” would respond to the mail in database and “No” to the member of staff. This would minimise the training requirement.

The problem is that all our salespeople use their personal email programs and accounts for our work.

Can anyone see a simple solution to this?

Jason,

How about a simple web application? You send them an email with two links, one for yes and one for no. By clicking on the links, they are opening appropriate pages/agents/whatever in your web app and that does whatever work needs to be done.

Thanks Raphael. I may give this a go.
