I’ve tried several times now to uninstall and re-install Domino on my Windows 2003 server on VMWare. It was a Domino 8.5.1 FP2 server on Windows 2003 R2 x86 with the pre-release Quickr 8.5 beta. I could uninstall Quickr no problem, but when I run the uninstaller for Domino, it goes through the motions for a couple of seconds, and says it finished successfully.
Except that all the binaries and templates are still there, the services are still in the services control panel, and all the registry entries are still there.
Even if I go through and manually remove all those pieces, I still get an error trying to install Domino 7.0.3, with the installer telling me that a newer version is already installed.
Is this a known bug? I can’t find anything in the KB or in this discussion database.
Subject: Lotus Uninstallation Problem
Hi Greg, After uninstalling lotus ,have u removed all the folders that are created during installation process.First try to uninstall client and the uninstall server.Once the uninstallaion is complete delete the folders that are created during installation(By defalult the path will be c:/Programfiles/(x86)/Lotus/Notes/).So when u install,by default it will create the folder(x86) and in that (lotus) folder. So after uninstalling,go to program files and remove that x86 folder. So all the installed folders will be removed.Sometimes u may get error the folder in use or program in use.So at that point of time just restart your pc and try to remove the folders. After that go to temporary files and remove there also,if exists in it.If u do this, when installing a fresh copy it will not ask to replace the existing. So,just try this. This may work.If u still have a problem mail me-------- rkumara26@gmail.com
Subject: Didn’t work
Finally resolved this by installing Domino 7.0.3 in a different directory on the same drive.
