How have others gotten Domino 8.5 to run under Windows Server 2008 (32-bit)? I can start Domino manually no problem, but if I start as a service it doesn’t run. I thought I might have had it running once (I’ve tried so many things now I can’t remember what I’ve done when) but it wouldn’t interact with the desktop. If I try to start as a service manually I get the Interactive Services Dialog and can’t get it onto the desktop. Anyone have any ideas?
Subject: Are you sure it’s not running, just no Domino Console displayed
WIN2008 does not allow anything running as a Service to have a Console… Check the Task Manager and see if all the Domino processes are running… You can then launch the Domino Java Console to added to the desktop for you to connect to the service and see things being logged that way…

Please refer to the technote (http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21358444) for an explanation on the difference between the Domino server running as an application and as-a-service.

OK, yeah, I can get Domino to run as a service, but if I try to do it with -jc I get errors:
createServerSocket=Cannot assign requested address: JVM_Bind
Unable to bind to port 2050 … blah blah
Domino Server Controller exiting: Listerner startup timed out.

I have the same problem, domino doesn’t start as a service. How can I start as a service without console, creating a service in this way?
sc create “Lotus Domino Server” binPath= “C:\Lotus\Domino\nservice.exe =c:\Lotus\Domino\notes.ini -c”
