I have a stand alone java app that needs to access domino data to do some reporting. It works using diiop calls but it is much too slow. Im trying to access a local domino session but get the error message: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Can’t find library nlsxbe. Ive added notes.jar and ncso.jar to the classpath and added them to the java.library.path as well(at least I think I did) I’m using websphere development studio for an IDE. If anyone is using this IDE and can help me, please respond. I’ve read every thread on here and still cant get it to work.

Is nlsxbe.dll registered on your system? (It may not be.) From the command window, navigate to your Notes program directory, then issue:
regsvr32 nlsxbe.dll

Well I tried that and it said it registered successfully but I still get the same error when I try to run the program.

Try to add location of nlsxbe.dll’s parent directory (e.g. c:\lotus\notes) to your PATH environment variable. You can do it in Advanced section of “My Computer” on Windows Desktop.Restart the computer after this addition.
Maybe you can add PATH directly to Websphere IDE in some of the websphere configuration menu.
If you run your Java program from “DOS” command prompt you can temporary set PATH variable with command:
Set PATH=%PATH%;c:\lotus\notes

Also, make sure the ncso.jar comes before the notes.jar in your CLASSPATH when you compile your code, otherwise the notes corba classes will not be used.
And there’s a User Preference on the Notes client that you might want to set, just in case.
‘Launch the CORBA (DIIOP) server on Preview in Notes browser’
