I had 2 clients installed with 8.0.1. and would like to install 8.5 on top. After I got through the initial screen, I get a prompt that says “Cannot upgrade AllClient installation to Notes Client” The upgrade you are attempting is not suppported.
Not sure what this means. I was able to do it for other 8.0.1. clients.
Install is for:
IBM Lotus Notes 8.5. For Windows XP and Vista.
C1SP4EN.exe (516MGB)

I see you are upgrading ‘to’ the Notes Client kit (not all clients). Please confirm 8.0.1 client installation was Notes Client Only and attach logs if available. If previous install included Designer/Admin you should uninstall first.
Hey, guess what, even in 2025, upgrading to Notes 14, this issue was solved by this old post by Nicki Faulk. A one line edit in NOTES.INI just like we did in the 90s.
" change the InstallType value from 2 to 6"
