Cannot send Internet Mail - DNS Problems

We have just built two 6.5.2 servers on Windows 2003.

1 works fine but the second will not send internet mail keeps coming up with DNS errors.

Have read past posts but they have not helped me fix the issue.

We get:

DNS is unavailable or query timed out, message will be requeued.

I can do a nslookup from the cmd prompt so it seems like domino has the problem.

I have a call logged with Lotus but they are saying it is a problem with Windows 2003, so are unwilling to help.

Anybody sovled this problem.

If you look at the Win2003 network settings on the 2 machines, are they both looking at the same DNS server? Global Domain Docs and Messaging Configurations are both the same?

Hi namesake, lamentably Win 2003 have many problem with DNS, In one particular instance, the errors occur when a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 is being used to provide DNS services. Microsoft has identified issues in which a Domain Name System (DNS) server that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003 can intermittently stop responding to client requests for certain host names or DNS queries to some domains might not be resolved successfully.Microsoft is aware of these issues and multiple workarounds are available, depending on the specific situation.
