Hello,
After installing Office 2003 service pack 3 I noticed that we cannot send email straight from MS Word anymore.
The “send email” button is grayed out in Word menu.
I have checked the control panel → add remove programs → default programs and set the email client to Notes to no avail.
Is there any workaround for this problem? we have to manually attach documents to Notes at the moment.

In the Notes client, open user preferences, there is an option to Enable MS/Office to send mail directly thru Notes or something like that enable it. Restart the Notes client

Hello,
This problem has been solved. Mapi-service was not installed, because Outlook was not installed before Notes install.
Easy fix was to install Outlook with Office package.
I also found an registry fix if one does not want to install Outlook. It was intented to Office 2007, but worked fine with 2003.
