Cannot see see contents of Archive that is on a DVD

I am having some trouble seeing the contents of a mail user’s mail archive I burned to DVD. These are the steps I use:

  1. open their archive at the workstation

  2. press CTRL+SHIFT+F9

  3. I then copy the archive to a network share

  4. I burn the archive to a DVD

  5. I then test opening the archive at the user’s workstation with their ID and client

Doing this however, there is nothing in any of the views. The wierd thing is that the nsf file shows that it has about 1.6GB of data.

Can anyone tell me what I am doing incorrectly?

Thanks!!

You can only copy the doucments which you can view into the local copy database. For example, this server database contains 1000 documents, but you can only see 150 documents because of your access authority; after you use your ID copy this database to another place(local or any other server), only 150 documents are copied into the new database. Even though you use another person’s ID (who could see more documents in the server database), you can still only see 150 documents.

So you can use someone’s ID who can see all the documents in the server database, then copy that database to the DVD.

Thanks for the responses so far.

  • when I make a copy of the Archive, I close Lotus Notes and use Windows explorer to copy it.

  • The only step that was not performed “at” the user’s workstation was the borning of the archive.

  • I am still unable, at the user’s workstation and Notes client, with her ID able to see the contents of her email Archive. :frowning:

  1. I then copy the archive to a network share

I presume that’s an OS copy of the *.nsf, and not a Notes File/Database/New copy ?
