Cannot perform search on a private view

I have some users that are getting this message when trying to search a view.

“Cannot perform search on a private view of a server based database”

I am using “Shared,Private on first use”. I have other databases that use this type of view and there is no issue or error.

Anyone with a good solution or information on this?

Thanks

See where the views are being stored. If the user has the ACL privilege “create personal views/folders” then their private view is stored up on the server and my guess is the agent should work. Without this privilege their private view is stored in the local desktop file.

I would rather have the views stored local rather than on the server it sounds like. So, should I remove the entitlement of Create personal/views folders?

Try both ways and see if either solves your problem. having the views local is less storage and indexing work for the server; having them on the server means the users have access to their private views regardless of which client PC they access the db from

I have removed the views and re-created them. I also changed my users in the ACL. I will need to test this tomorrow in the AM to see if there is a difference.

I did notice in the databases where the Shared, Private on first use, when the Full Text Index is turned off, I do not get this error. Do you think that could have a issue. I do have the Full Text Index search on this database also.
