Cannot get Domino to start as a Service/Windows 2003

I have Domino 6.5.5FP2 installed on a new blade center running Windows 2003. The program directory runs on the C drive and the data directory is located on a NetApp. I can successfully start Domino as an application, but cannot start as a service. We run the service as a specific “user” with full Admin rights. Anyone have any ideas? Same configuration Domino 6.5.5FP2, Windows 2000, and “user” works fine…(still awaiting gov. customer to approve upgrade to 8…so not currently an option)

Thank you,

Colleen

When you were installing Domino, did you check the box for “Install Domino as a Service?”

Also, you may want to check the OS rights. The administrator needs to give full privileges for the “user” account to the following:

The Notes program directory and all files (for example, C:\Program Files\Lotus).

The Notes data directory and all files and subdirectories (for example, X:\Program Files\Lotus\Domino\Data).

The NOTES.INI file.

Greg,

Yes, I told it to install as a service…shows up…just don’t work

I will check the other permissions and see if that’s what is causing the problem. Thank you for the help.

Dear A C Robbins, I 'd like to know what you did to solve the Domino server 6.5.5 permissions problem in Windows 2003 Server.
