Receiving error “Cannot convert MIME message to Notes Rich Text message”, when sending .xls attachment. This attachment is mailed to multiple users. However, this error is relevant only to one of the recipients. This same recipient receives other .xls attachments sent in the same manner – outlook express to Lotus Domino. Checked the ‘Person document’ - all seems to be in order. The Lotus administrator is out of ideas. Does anyone have any relevant suggestions?

If the recipient receives xls files fine from other senders then the problem is likely on the sender’s end. Have the sender check their contact list in outlook express. There is likely a setting in the contact record that is formatting the message that is specific to this recipient. If the sender has a contact record for the recipient have them delete the contact and just address the message to the user from scratch. This should now send the message using default Outlook settings.

Thanks for the response Paul. This attachment is an MS Access generated xls file. MS Access initiates the email process through Outlook Express. This recipient receives other xls attachments without error; all attachments are generated in the same manner by other .mdb applications that are located on the same dedicated PC. I ruled out the Outlook client; I manually emailed this one attachment to two recipients. I did this twice, each time using a adifferent machine. One recipient received the email the other (the problem user) did not. (Same result both times.)
If you have any other ideas please share them with me.

Paul,Thanks again for your response.
The Lotus administrator tells me that he creates each account by copying the person doc from an existing account to the new account then makes appropriate changes to customize the person doc for the new user.
Format preference (MessageStorage) fields are set to same value for all.
