Hello.
In the last few days we have had the following problem with users unable to alter their internet password when prompted. This had been working quite happily until we had a power failure. Now I am not saying that the power failure caused it (:)) but I am not sure what could be the cause.
The user is prompted to change their password and then they are presented with a page ‘The Page Cannot Be Found’ and the URL ‘http://www.waternet.com.au/names.nsf?ChangePassword’
I am by no means a Notes Administrator so any help would be appreciated.
Cheers!

Subject: Cannot change Internet password
Hi,take a look at the Database “WebServer Configuration”. It should be the domcfg.nsf!
This Database has a Form called “$$ChangePasswordForm”. This one is responsible for the url “/names.nsf?ChangePassword”
Maybe fixup or change design fixes the Problem on the DB
If not, please post
Good Luck

Hi Torbe.
Thanks for yopur quick response. I did perform a fixup on the domcfg.nsf - I did this by selecting the file from the Admin client and selecting ‘fixup’ from the tool area on the right hand-side. That still did not work.
I failed to mention earlier that we aree running server 6.5.5 but client 6.5.4. Is that a problem?
You mentioned refreshing the design. Which template do I use? Unfortunately the db properties does not specify a template name.
Sorry for my lack of Admin knowledge but I hope this explains my problem.
Cheers!

PS
One thing I did notice when we upgraded to 6.5.5. server was that for our users to get to their mail file via a browser they needed to type http://server/mail/aname.nsf/ instead of the previous http://server/mail/aname.nsf (notice no appending /)
would te same problem be with the url to the changepassword form?
I will investigate this on Monday. Have a good weekend - where ever you are in the world.

Hi,
-
you can try the “/” on the ChangePassword, OK
-
For the Mailfile:
Use the Domino WebAccess Redirection Database, so the user just has to sign on http://server and not the full path.
Setup a Database with the Template iwaredir.ntf
Use for example the DB Name dwaredir.nsf. Install ist to the notesdata Folder.
Then in the ServerDocument / internet / Home URL the name of the Database (dwaredir.nsf) thats it.
Nice weekend…from germany

Hello Torben.I have had a look at the domcfg.nsf and I have a silly question. Where can I find the code that is executed when the Submit button is clicked. I appreciate tat by virtue of being a button the form will be submitted but I cannot see the code that does the redirecting so I can append a ‘/’ to the url
?changepassword.
Cheers

Hi,
The code is in the Form called “$$ChangePasswordForm” in the domcfg.nsf. You have to open the DB with the Lotus Notes Designer.
But I don’t get it right. We don’t need to append the “/” in the URL, and we are running 6.5.4FP2 too, but on AIX.
I guess the call “?ChangePassword” is somewhere in the deep of Domino and you will not be able to change this, because the URL works only with the domcfg.nsf wich has to have this name and it works only if you enabling session authentication in the server document.
You can change the Form in the domcfg.nsf, but I guess not the URL.
I tested it on 6.5.4FP2 and on 7.0.2 on a W2K System. It runns fine without the “/”. Maybe your System or Browser has a bug?
Good Luck

Thanks Torben.I did look at the designer of the domcfg and could not find the code ?changePasswordForm…
I am guessing that we need to update our Notes with the latest fixes which we will do asap.
Thanks again!

Hi,
hmmm ???
Subject: RE: Cannot change Internet password
still waiting on my manager to org a time for us to do the upgrade. it’s not terribly urgent, but I would like it resolved. The idea is to run the fixups and if we still have a problem then I will call IBM support.I will update this forum on the outcome.
Cheers!
