Subject: can you create a document link in an email
Both solutions work for, but not when there is a blank somewhere in the path- or document name. What can be done in that case?

A little late, but maybe for others, searching like me…
file://C:\Users\TOM\Desktop\BATi\Field%20is%20too%20large.docx
will work.
This won’t:
file://“C:\Users\TOM\Desktop\BATi\Field is too large.docx”
“file://C:\Users\TOM\Desktop\BATi\Field is too large.docx”

in the mail enter :
FILE:\filenmae
example :
FILE:\F:\excel\1.xls

you can also create a hotspot link.
Add the static text in the mail.
Highlight the text
From menu Create > Hotspot > Link Hotspot
In the properties box, set Type to ‘URL’
Input UNC path to the spreadsheet, like \fileservername\volume\filename
