Can receive but cannot send mail

Hi all,

One of my user can receive but cannot send mail…

When sending mail with his mailbox, the process is smooth and NO ERROR occurs. But no mail is actually sent to the target receivers…

I have tried send a mail using his server mailbox on my desktop but no luck…(=>not related to his desktop)

Also I have run Compact, fixup, updall, but still no luck

Is there any way to fix this problem?

Thanks~

Sam,

Is the log showing that your mail hs being accepted?

Are you working on a replica and your mail is stuck in the local mail.box?

Please provide more information…

Hi Ronny,

I am working on server replica, not local replica,

I have searched the log and no related entry is found…

Thanks~

have you done a delivery confirmation, full trace to see how far it gets? Each server hop should return a msg letting you know how far it gets.

Sam,

They haven’t got a mail.box on their local machine that the mails that are being sent (with no error) are sat in.

File => Database => Open [Server:Local], type in mail.box in the file name.

These emails must be going somewhere and if you see no record of them routing in Log.nsf on the users Home Mail Server they must be being held locally.

Hi all,

The problem is solved.

Our mailscan software was upgraded recently, a new rule was added by the upgrade that filters sensitive mail content with word ‘DICK’.

Some of our clients are named ‘Dick’, related inbound and outbound mails are quantiated. We remove the rule and the problem is solved.

Thanks for your valuable info~
