We did a test "silent install" on a few users and at first glance it looked good. However, I have since found out that one of the .dll's that we had installed got removed. Can I push a .dll during a silent install?
Hi Lisa,
1. If the corresponding dll is a part of the Notes installation setup EXE then please try running the below command once. The dll will get pushed.
command Syntax:setup.exe -s -a /s /v" /qb+“
e.g. HCL_Notes_1101_Win_English.exe -s -a /s /v" /qb+“
2. the Corresponding dll is not a part of the Notes installation setup EXE then please provide dll file name which you would like to push?
It is not part of the install, but is a .dll that we need for some old databases.
We are using /qn"
What is qb+
Hi Lisa,
/qn - indicates no user interface displays during the upgrade.
What is qb+?
--->/qb+ - Displays the basic user interface and a message box at the end of the upgrade.
Probably notes.ini parameter named EXTMGR_ADDINS= might be helpful here.
For further assistance please provide
1. The name of the dll?
2. What is the purpose of using dll for the old database.?
the name of the dll is nnif.dll and is an old Workflow Designs Formula One Toolkit dll. It is not in most of our applications anymore, but sometimes we run up against it. When we do, we replace the code with current code.
Hi Lisa,
As nnif.dll is not a default dll shipped with the Notes installation setup EXE we suggest following below steps
The suitable approach would be
Way1:
1. Obtain the dll either from your old backup or download it from the web(https://www.dllme.com/).
2. Place the .DLL file in the Notes Program directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\HCL\Notes)
3. DLL installation has been completed!
OR
Way2:
Try installing the. DLL file directly to Window
1. Copy the .DLL file to your C:\Windows\System32\ folder. (32 bit)
2. Copy the .DLL file to your C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ folder. (64 bit)
3. DLL installation has been completed!
Hope this helps.
