Can files/apps be embedded in CDrecords?

I’m writing a virus scanning plugin for the Domino mail server. I need to be able to scan every object that might contain a virus (extreme paranoia is the word).

I’m a lowly C programmer with little Notes experience, so I don’t know many of the Lotus tricks, but I need to know every possible way of storing documents/applications within an email note.

I have tried lots of ways to embed objects into my Rich text emails, but they always seem to create hotspots pointing to $FILE objects.

In MIME emails, inline attachments below ~40Kb are stored in a TYPE_MIME_PART without the need for a $FILE container, so I’m asking if there is any way of doing the same for a CD record.

So my question is:

Is there any way to embed files directly into CD records (so the physical file is stored within the record instead of a $FILE container), and how is that done?

Dumb question of the day:Apparently, any and all commercially available packages that do this very thing are not adequate for your business needs?

I’m not writing some crap just for my own needs. This is for a package that will be commercially available, and I want it to be good.

As you can see here:

CD records are generally very ugly, and they are not very well documented.

I need to know how and where objects can be stored directly in them (without using hotspots).
