Domino is a D partition, the OS is is C. Plan to leave D with all Domino software and files. After the OS is restored; will Domino be able to start witout a need of reinstallation? I am concerned with the Registry and because of having to reinstall and configure Domino again. I heard Domino will just start. What is the advisable approach here? I would love that I would not have to rebuild Domino but concerned this may lead me into other problems. How much of Domino is in the Registry?
I have 6.5.4, the FP2 and many confiruration set on the INI.
Subject: Can Domino start clean after OS rebuild?
After you installed the os, you can run the domino setup from CD. It will leave all your settings intact.

Do not follow, can you elaborate? Domino setup builds the ini to get started; but I already have an ini file.
The OS gets reinstalled in C drive (which cleans the C drive, including the registry), now Domino, including all software, files and ini should still be in the D drive untouched by the OS cleanup.
My question is: does Domino need the registry to start? If not, can I just execute Domino from the .exe from windows explorer.
I would like to avoid having to reinstall Domino and bring up Domino exactly as it was.
