Can Domino 7.0.2 access data files on an iSeries?

We have Domino 7.0.2 on an iSeries server and I’d like to access i5/OS Physical and Logical files on another iSeries server (our ERP system).

In a Notes database, I’d like to prompt a user with a dialog box for a product. We have over 1,000+ products being updated daily on our ERP system and instead of downloading a new product list every day, I’d like to just access the Product file and display a real-time list of products for the user to select from. This could also be useful for selecting customers as well.

Can this be done without a 3rd party product?

Thanks in advance,

Quin

Not sure what your ERP is, but there ought to be a Redbook that covers this for you:

You should be able to do this, with DECS, LEI, LSX, or ODBC.

I hope.

Use WRKRDBDIRE on the Domino iSeries to define a pointer to the ERP iSeries.

Then read the ERP files via ODBCConnection class in LotusScript.
