Calendar question

I have an application that has a calendar built in it and it works fine. What I would really like is when a calendar entry is made in the application calendar that either an email go out to the recipiants so they can accept it into their calendars or to automatically put the entry in their calendar (most are not on the same mail server)

The application is not on the same servers as the mail as well. I have tried some code I found here but it hasn’t worked. They won’t spend the money for any 3rd party tools either so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, I do not have ready to use code sending invitation. But I would send a real invitation from a mail database first just to check all the fields the real invitation would have. Then I would repeat all the fields in the code sending invitations from the custom applicatio you are working on. Then when users get invitation in their mail boxes the form ( I think it is “Appointment”) will be working for them and suggesting Accept/ Decline invitation, adding a calendar entry in the mail db.

If this is a matter of different servers, then you can always lookup into the Address book to extract person’s mail server.Does it help?

ok that will work but how do i get the calendar entry in their calendar? As I stated, I could not get that code to work. I was unable to create an entry and it didnt fail anywhere.

I also dont have access to their calendar, ACL will prevent that so I guess my only option is to send a meeting notice but i have not got that to work.
