Domino/Notes Version: 12 FP 7
Add-on Product (if appropriate, e.g. Verse / Traveler / Nomad / Domino REST API): Traveler
Its Version:
Operating System: Windows 11
Client (Notes, Nomad Web, Nomad Mobile, Android/iOS, browser version): iOS 26.2.1
Problem/Query:
One of my users has a periodically recurring problem with Anniversary (mainly but not exclusively Birthdays) entries in his HCL Notes Calendar. He uses an iPhone to access his calendar. The calendar entries are displayed in the iPhone calendar app. The iOS version is 26.2.1. We use a Traveler server to configure the connection between HCL Domino and iPhone.
Every now and again (there is no defined time interval) he receives the following message from EACH Anniversary entry:
“Die Aktualisierung für Besprechung “[NAME]” von Ihrem “Apple-iPhone15C4/2303.71”-Gerät aus wurde aufgrund einer damit im Konflikt stehenden Aktualisierung zurückgewiesen. Überprüfen Sie die Besprechung und führen Sie die Aktualisierung erneut durch.”
“The update for meeting “[NAME]” from your “Apple iPhone15C4/2303.71” device was rejected due to a conflicting update. Please review the meeting and try the update again.”
What could be the cause of this message?
As the user has a lot of Anniversay entries his inbox receives a large number of these messages at once.
Hello Andrew,
May I know the Traveler server version you are using.
There is no workaround to completely avoid the problem - Apple feedback FB15432406 was opened to alert Apple to the problem and ultimately an iOS fix will be needed. If you believe you are experiencing this issue, you should open an Apple bug/feedback report and reference FB15432406.
A Traveler update is available in Traveler 14.0.0 FP2 to reduce the number of conflict emails that the chair receives.
There are two new notes.ini parameters added in the fix.
NTS_CALENDAR_CONFLICT_CACHE_SECONDS (default 120 seconds) will reduce the number of conflict emails sent for the same meeting. By default, it will prevent a second conflict email from being sent for the same meeting for 2 minutes. No changes are needed to enable this once the hotfix is installed.
NTS_CALENDAR_CONFLICT_EMAIL (default true) will allow the conflict emails to be disabled, if necessary, by setting the notes.ini value to false. The risk in disabling the conflict emails altogether is that an actual change made from the device could be rejected with no notice to the chair (thus the change being lost and not sent to invitees).
These parameters will be available via Traveler 14.0.0 FP2 and in any future releases of Traveler.
Please refer : iOS/iPadOS 18: Conflict emails and update notices are generated for repeating events without any changes made by the chair - Customer Support

Thank you very much for your detailed answer. We are using Traveler 12.0.2.1 running on Domino 12.0.1 FP1
Hello Andrew,
If possible, I suggest you to upgrade to latest traveler 14.5 as with Traveler 14.0.0.2 APNS certificate will expire on March 2, 2026. Starting with Traveler 14.5 instead of APNS certificate, it uses token based authentication.
Regards
Aniket
