Calendar entries offset +3 hours

Internet Explore 8.Citrix Presentation Server 4.0

Notes 8.5.1 FP1 Standard, Danish.

When I log on to citrix desktop, using a web browser, and launch Notes, all my calendar entris are offset by +3 hours.

If I show summary, the entries are displayed correctly.

If I log on to the same citrix server, using either a RDP - or ICA client, the entries are displayed correctly.

Subject: Citrix Client vs Citrix Server Timezone data

Hi Torben,

If the Citrix client and server are in different time zones, the Client Time Zone (CTZ) needs to be enabled on the Citrix Server to instruct the server to use the Client’s time zone instead of its own.

See Technote in process:

Troubleshooting Timezone support for Citrix® clients

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem

Incorrect times and dates reflected in Client calendar and Notes log when Citrix® client runs in different time zone from Citrix® server

Symptom

The Notes Calendar views reflect the time zone of the Citrix® server and not the Citrix® client.

When creating a new calendar entry, the time of the entry does not match the time slot selected.

Notes log entries reflect a different time than client’s current time.

When working in One Work Week view and selecting the Previous button on the DateNavigator, Calendar loops backward.

Cause

When running an Application in the Citrix® environment where the Citrix® Server and Citrix® Client are running in different time zones, the Application will default to using the time zone of the Citrix® server unless it is a legacy application (C++).

Since the Notes application is made up of libraries that use newer technology (Java) and legacy technology (C++), parts of the Notes application use the Citrix® server’s time zone while other parts of the application use the Citrix® client’s time zone.

Environment

Notes running on Citrix®

Diagnosing the problem

Check the time zone setting in the Date and Time properties in the control panel on the Citrix® server. If the time zone differs from the time zone setting in the Date and Time properties in the control panel of the Citrix® client, then the Client Time Zone (CTZ) needs to be enabled on the Citrix® server.

Resolving the problem

When running the Notes application in a Citrix® environment where the Citrix® client runs in a different time zone from the Citrix® Server, the Client Time Zone (CTZ) setting needs to be enabled on the Citrix® server so that the entire Notes application uses the client’s time zone.

See Citrix Customer Service for instructions on how to enable CTZ on the Citrix® server.

Subject: Solved, thanks.

It was the Allow Time Zone Redirection, which should be set to Disabled.

Subject: Thanks, I’ll check it…

Though I believe the server and client are using the same timezone, (UTC +01:00) Rome, - daylight time./Torben

Subject: Problem still exists with XenApp5 x64

Moe, your description seems to address only 32 bit XenApp environments.

We have still the same timezone display problem with Notes 8.5.1 running on top of Citrix XenApp 5 x64 (latest hotfix packageXAE500W2K8X64053.MSP applied, which includes new tzhook.dll/tzhook64.dll).

Is there any new information for fixing the problem or is it better to rise an official support request?

Peter
