Hi All,

I want to make a hotspot button, to attach files to the rich text field.

Do not want to use Rich Text Lite field, because need to do some more processing on the button.

Did you have a search for this before posting.Please make it a habit.There would tons of post for this topic.

Have a look at EmbedObject method in NotesEmbeddedObject class.

I’ve had so much experience of trying to do this over the last few months that I feel I could write a book! (Watch out it might appear on DominoPower.)

Anyway. Its relatively easy to code a button which attaches file to a rich text field - look at other posts in here & consult the Designer Help. What you need to watch out for is when the rich text field gets to a certain size then Notes very helpfully splits it into multiple fields with the same name - it all works fine when you look at thru Notes.

Your problems start when your button tries to navigate to the end of the rich text field & attach the next file. You just can’t guarantee that the field you get (usually by NotesDoc.getfirstitem) is the one you want. I found that often the rich text field I got was the one without attachments, which then messed up the numbering system I had coded (& Lots of other rich text item processing).

hello akash, make one richtextfield…and make one Hotspotbutton…in the formula window of hotspotbutton…write down…

@Command([EditGotoField];“richtextfieldname”);

@Command([EditInsertFileAttachment])

by this you will be able to attach the file through hotspot button…

How can this be done in Lotus script?

Actually the exact requirement is to attach an excel file and extract certain values from the sheet and fill them on the form.

Any suggestion would be helpful.
