Bulk save of e-mail attachments

I recently discovered that I need to 1) select all of the e-mail that I’ve received from one person 2) extract all of the attachments to those e-mails and 3) save them to a local server. There are about 1500 e-mails with a total of maybe 90 attachements and I just can’t imagine having to open each and every e-mail to save the attachments. If you have a better way, please help. Thanks

There is PROBABLY a better way, this is the first thing that popped into my head.

Go to your all documents view.

Sort it by name.

Select all the documents from that person (if it’s fairly easy select just those with attachments - create a person view selecting just that name and those with attachments)

Choose Forward with attachments

After it creates the new document, scroll down and find ANY attachment

Right click on the attachment and choose Save All…

Done

I just tried it and it worked for me, but I just choose couple dozen e-mails with less than a half dozen attachments. Not sure what might happen for 1500+ emails with large attachments.

(Quiet around here… You’d think everyone was off at some conference or something  )

That’s an excellent suggestion. I’ll give that a try. Even if I can’t do all of them at once, I can reduce the magnitude of the effort significantly. Thanks!
