Bugs when registering User via Web Administrator

Dear Ladies and Gentleman,

we are testing your domino server product Version IBM Domino Enterprise Server V9.0 Windows 32-bit English Trial Windows to evaluate, if it fits our needs.

The most things went well, but i think there are a lot of bugs, when registering new users via the Web Administrator.

For Example:

  • If a user with the necessary privilegs open the Web Administrator and wants to register a new user, then not all Information from the policy document are used.

For example:

  • For tests we created an organizational policy for the Organisation Test/Test.CORP

  • In this policy we defined a registration setup.

  • The registration setup are configured as following:

  1. Create Mailfile on Server 1

  2. Create Mail Replica on Server 2

  3. Set Roaming Server 2

  4. Create Replica for Roaming Files on Server 1

  5. Set Mailfile Manager as TestAdmin/Test.Corp

Bug 1:

In the Web Administrator it is necessary to configure the mail replicas settings new, because the information from the policy document will not be used. (Last Menu - “Replica” in Web Administrator Window).

Bug 2:

The Roaming Server Information allways are set to “Current Server”, the information from Policy Setting is not used to display the configured value.

Bug 3:

If in the policy “Registration” policy is a Mail-File Manager set, then the new created mail-file didn´t reflect this entry. Only the “user how has registered is listed” and the standard ACL entries which are defined in the template for the mailfile.

Bug 4:

If in the registration document is defined, that the roaming files should be replicated to another server, nothing happens after the user is registered. The Administration Request Database did not have any information to create replicas of the Roaming Databases.

Bug 5:

If in the registration document is defined, that the mail file should be replicated to another server, nothing happens after the user is registered. The Administration Request Database did not have any information to create replica of the Mailfile Database. On the target server there will be a new “Replica Stub” which will not be finished to created as full Replica.

Bug 6:

If you configure that the mail database should be also created as new replica via the Web Administrator Mask (Last Menu - Replica), after the registration you will only find a replica stub on the defined server, but this replica will not be get initialized full.

If the same user, which are registering users via Web Administrator is using the Administrator client everything wents well.

Registering Domino Users via Domino Administrator:

Bug 1:

If in the policy document is set, that the ID-File should also be “Stored in the domino directory”, this will be not reflected in the Domino Administrator “User Registration Mask”. Also the User-ID will not be stored, in the Domino Directory.

We also have checked central fix for the last updates, but nothing of the mentioned problems are listed as fixed issues.

Registering a new User with Domino Administrator Client and a configured CA, the Administration Request Database will looks like this:

If a user is registered via Domino Web Administrator and a configured CA Process then the Task in die Administration Request Database looks like this:

So there will be missing a lot of tasks when registering a user via web administrator and CA.

This issue can be reproduced also with a brand-new installation and when using the first created user (Domain Administrator).
