Browser, Hide-When, Outline and Page issue

Hi All,

I am running into a very strange issue in an application that was developed in 4.6 (we are now running 6.5.1). I made a change to an outline that is displayed on the web. There are two frames a left frame and main frame. The main frame has a page, and the left frame is a page with two outlines on it. The hide when was put into both outlines (has to do with hiding certain selections on the outline if a date is not met on the users profile). The following is the hide formula used on both outlines:

TmpMod :=@DbColumn(“”:“NoCache”;“”:“”;“SchoolsByNameW”;1);

TmpComp := @Adjust(@Date(@Now);0;-4;0;0;0;0);

@If(TmpMod<@Text(TmpComp;“S0”);@True;@False)

On the page in the left frame on the browser, everything looks fine like the following:

Create Outline

  • Create request (hidden)

  • Feedback (not hidden)

View Outline

  • View Requests (hidden)

  • FAQ’s (not hidden)

The formula works correctly on both outlines on the browser (contained on the left frame). the main frame area displays a page with an embedded view with the date being compared in the formula, so the users need to update that document before they can do anything.

Everything displays the way it is supposed to. Initially the selections that have (hidden) next to the selections above are so, until after modifying the document on the embedded view, it returns and displays ALL selections the way it is supposed to. However, if I click on the create request selection, it launches the feedback form??? And if I select the feedback form, I get a javascript href error and page not found??

Anything clicked on the view selection outline works perfectly. It is very bizarre behavior, and if I log out and go back in, it works great?!? It seems as though the cache is being held for the previous screen, but the selections display correctly!! I have attempted several things to solve this including trying to reload the window. All have failed unless I log out and go back in. I have even tried to re-build all of the Create design elements without success.

Just not sure what to make of this or how to solve it.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

TIA

Mick

Subject: SOLVED - Browser, Hide-When, Outline and Page issue

After looking around and also talking with others within this forum and out side of, I put these changes into the HTML Head Content part of the page:

“”;

@SetHTTPHeader(“Expires”;@Now);

re:=@SetHTTPHeader(“Cache-control”;“No-cache”);

@If(re=“1”;“”;“”)

This application uses a style sheet, and I added the @SetHTTPHeader statement in there (which basically clears the cache) and it worked! Both outlines, the page and the frame come up correctly. Also, I needed to place the @If in there so that the resulting value is not displayed on the page. Very strange problem, and seeing that I have never had to use that formula before until now, it would have taken me forever to find this workaroud/solution. Just can’t figure out WHY it wouldn’t affect BOTH outlines instead of only one!! Oh well, it works, so enough ranting…

Hopefully this will help someone out in the future.

Thanks to all that looked at this and at least thought about it.

Mick
