BlockaddressList has reached his limit

Hello

The list of blocked addresses (spam) of one of our users has reached its limit. We have tell him that he must delete some entries if he wants to add more new entries. But when he tries to manage the junk mail list, he gets the typical error:

“Field is tool large(32K) ofr View’s column & selection formulas are too large”

So we are now in a loop. He cannot add new entries, and he cannot remove the old ones.

Do you know what can we do now? Have you any way of deleting some (not all) old entries?

Thanks

Marian

Hi,

Is there any limit to the number entered In the Block Mail From Sender list

From what i remember, those values are stored in the calendar profile.You can see it with NotesPeek (Look in the sandbox). The field name is :$Filter_BlockAddressList

To delete the calendar, send this button to your user:

Sub Click(Source As Button)

Dim s As New NotesSession

Dim db As NotesDatabase

Dim doc As NotesDocument

Set db = s.currentdatabase

Set doc = db.GetProfileDocument("Calendarprofile")

Call doc.Remove(True)

Print "Finish."

End Sub

He will loose all his personal settings including is block list, so do a cut and paste of those values via NotesPeek.

The calendar will be recreated when he reopen is mail file.

I could not test this because I don’t have a full Blocked Sender List but try creating a button in the user’s mail file with this code in it. I am suspect that it may bomb out with the same error you were getting but it’s worth a shot.

list := @GetProfileField(“CalendarProfile”; “$Filter_BlockAddressList”);

@If(@Elements(list) = 0; @Return(@Prompt([Ok]; “List empty”; “Block Sender list is empty”)); “”);

choice := @Prompt([OkCancelList]; “Choose an entry to remove…”; “Choose and entry to remove from the list”; “”; list);

@If(@IsNumber(choice); @Return(@Prompt([Ok]; “Action cancelled…”; “Action cancelled, no entry was selected”)); “”);

newlist := @Trim(@Replace(list; choice;“”));

@SetProfileField(“CalendarProfile”; “$Filter_BlockAddressList”; @Explode(newlist));

@Prompt([Ok]; “Success”; choice + " removed from the blocked sender’s list")

If you can’t get this to work then just remove the $Filter_BlockAddressList field from the Calendar Profile, rather than deleting the entire profile.

Sub Click(Source As Button)

Dim ns As New notessession

Dim db As notesdatabase

Dim item As NotesItem

Set db = ns.CurrentDatabase

Dim doc As notesdocument

Set doc = db.GetProfileDocument("CalendarProfile")

Set item = doc.GetFirstItem("$Filter_BlockAddressList")

Call item.Remove

Call doc.ComputeWithForm(True, False)

Call doc.Save(True, False)

End Sub

Thanks a lot Paul.

The agent works perfect. The problem of managing the standard list of blocked addresses has not dissapeared, but with yours, I have been able to delete some addresses for adding new ones.

thanks again
