BlackBerry Simulator for Lotus Domino - stail data?

Hello,

I’ve recently installed and configured the BlackBerry Desktop Manager v5.0.1 and a BlackBerry 8330 simulator to connect to our BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES).

The first time the connection was made, the simulator loaded up my Lotus Notes email, but not my Lotus Notes calendar. This was on Friday, Jan. 8th 2010.

Now this morning, when I connect, the device simulator is not displaying my current email, it’s only showing what was loaded/synced on 1/8/10. And, it’s still not displaying my calendar data.

I’ve reviewed the options in the BB Desktop Manager and have enabled the following options:

“Reconcile email messages”

“Synchronize organizer data”

“Run add-in actions”

“Update device date and time”

And, I’ve enabled the “Syncronize automatically” option and clicked the “Syncronize” button.

But, the BB is still showing stail email data from 1/8/10, and no calendar data.

I realize this is a Lotus Notes forum, but I’m hoping someone out there will be able to confirm what can be expected with the simulator and desktop manager from a “Lotus Person’s” perspective.

Thanks.

BTW - below are the links I used to get the simulator set up and configured:

Subject: BlackBerry Simulator for Lotus Domino - stail data?

It has been a while since I used the BB Simulator but I think I was able to get current data all the time so that is not a limitation of the simulator. I will have to review what I did in the past to see if there are any ideas I can come up with to help you.

By default, the BlackBerry calendar and task apps are configured for wireless syncronization. After turning that off, the missing items came up the next time the desktop manager ran a synchronization.

Thanks.

It looks like when both the desktop mananger and simulator are running, new items (both email and calendar items generated on either end) appear. But if they are not running, the next time the apps are launched, anything new is not detected.

Also, it seems like the simulator locks up frequently becoming unresponsive.

Perhaps it’s a Win7x64 issue…?

UPDATE: Simulators are not officially supported in x64 environments. The information that I have is that they should work well enough, but it’s known that the simulators cannot be closed without ending the process in the Windows Task Manager.

HTH.
