we have just had a blackberry BES server installed in our domain and it’s working fine for everything except the Mobile Data Service (MDS).
the install asks for a user account and password to set this up which has rights to the appropriate mail dbs, and the server’s proxy is set to allow web browsing via proxy (with the need for a password).
the error logs says
Please make sure the system is setup for Native Notes API access
with sp2 of the bes what actually happened is that RIM dropped the notessql driver (caused too many problems). so from that point onwards the mds id uses the internet password from the person document rather than the id password (does not apply if you choose to keep on using notessql ;-).
th enew version doesn’t need the notes sql driver - you must remove it, plus the server doc needs the server and the mobile data service user in the run agents fields.
