Blackberry device receiving duplicate emails

I have several users who randomly get multiple copies of emails sent to their blackberry devices over and over. We use the Blackberry Internet Service and our lotus server is on version 8.5. The users client is both Win 7 and XP. I have worked with verizon and blackberry and have not been able to solve this problem. Blackberry states that the problem is that the lotus program is changing the message id so the blackberry program sees it as a new email each time. I do not get the option to do a View/Show page source. Can anyone tell me how I can check the message ID on an email message? Has anyone had any similar type of problems with their blackberry devices? thx

Subject: BIS monitors message status id

The problem is Blackberry Internet Server (BIS) checks the message status id each time it polls the mailbox and pushes each message to handheld once the status has changed since the last time it checked. This is one of the disadvantages of using the BIS service in a corporate environment. The ideal solution would be for you to deploy a Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES).

In the interim, you can ensure that your users manage their email with Notes or iNotes only. If you use other email clients (eg MS Outlook) then do not use POP. Ensure that the account is setup for IMAP.
