We ran into a bizarre problem.
Two of our IT staff received an email from an outside person, a vendor with a quote. They both read the email. The one person went into his inbox to read it again later in the day and it was gone. It wasn’t in his All Documents, junk or trash.
He went to the other IT staff person to ask him to forward it to him. It was missing from the other IT person’s inbox and all documents as well. But he still had the tab up for this email on his Lotus screen. But when he clicked on the tab he got a message that:The document specified by the link cannot be located within the linked-to database.
I thought the error referred to shared mail or DAOS but we don’t use either of those. I called support. They said it could be corrupt DB or mail rules. I ran fixup, compact, updall on the DBs. We looked at all the rules and found nothing to explain the emails disapearing. It wasn’t anti-virus either.
Two other people reported a similar problem weeks before and I wrote it off as user error–that they deleted it without realizing it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Greg
