I´m looking for a solution for the following problem.
We have to bind a domino smtp port inbound to 2 IP addresses (IP1 / IP2) and the smtp outbound to only one IP address (IP2)
IP1 is a loopback adapter
IP2 is a normal IP address
Background to this configuration:
We have mail applications (java) which can only address one IP (DNS) entry and an Advanced Traffic Manager (ATM) which does Failover and Loadbalancing. The ATM needs a loopbackadapter on the domino mail system to use it.
For only inbound everything works fine. Domino accepts mail on the normal and teh loopback ip. But if Domino trys to send outgoing smtp mail it tries to send it over the loopback IP - which fails. I´ve found no way to tell Domino to send smtp outbound on a spacific IP and accept inbound smtp on all IPs
