Beremote.exe causing problems?

Right now we are blaming beremote.exe which goes along with Backup Exec but I’m not convinced this is the real problem. Anyway, this is what is happening. Our Domino servers will suddenly get too busy to accept new connections and when I look at what else may be using up the resources the only thing that sticks out is beremote.exe which will be using a very high percentage of the processor and normally it won’t do this even during a backup. If I stop beremote.exe it won’t allow the Domino server to start accepting new connections. I am also having trouble trying solutions because this will happen about once every two weeks and the problem seems to go from one server to another. This only causes problems with our Domino servers while the other servers get the same basic setup.

This is a large company and I don’t agree with a lot of things that have to be setup on all servers but I can’t change certain things without a very good argument. The Domino servers also have the Novell client and Novell’s Zen update service along with Symantec. We have to have a locking screensaver which is set to just a blank screen.

The Domino server appears to be running but no one else can log on and it stops routing mail even though the mail router is still running. The only way I can get the Domino server to start working again is to restart the server.
