Bad response time view on the web, how to improve it?

Hello,

I tried to display on Internet Explorer all documents in a database with collapse and expand twisties.

Databsae contents 1.200 documents but not all are displayed at the same time.

I’m using an embedded view with embedded selection and select document by ‘show single category’ with the first column.

To display documents I must waiting 30 sec and if I clik on a twistie, waiting again 30 sec…

Do you have a solution to improve response time ?

information :

  • database is indexed

  • document sometimes contents big attachement (but I think it’s not a problem to display a view)

thanks in advance

Nicolas

Hmmm. Yes there is a round-trip to the server, but Show-single-category is usually a very fast technique. Are there many readername fields? Is the server very slow? Does the view open quickly in a Notes client? If there are only 1,200 docs, you could send the whole thing to the browser in one fell swoop and use JavaScript + CSS to show one category at a time. More details about the view/DB/server might help. You can search for performance in this forum too.
