There seems to be very poor HTTP download performance on 7.x - perhaps I am missing a tuning parameter?
For example I placed a 60MB test download file. When a second user downloads the same file, the speed of the download is cut by 30-40%. With 3 test downloads at the same time things start getting very slow.
There is almost no server load at the times of the test. Windows 2003, 2GB Ram, 3Ghz processor, Fast HD, etc.
Testing is performed on the LAN (no internet bottlenecks etc).
This could be a real issue… we have not been on 7.0.1 for long, and recently we allowed a large file to be available over http… I don’t know that the performance of the downloads are slow, but I can say that since notifying users of the file’s availability, this has caused the rest of the Dom apps on the servers to lock up quite often. The week prior to making the file available, there were no known performance complaints. It’s not like the servers are getting hammered either… plenty of memory and cpu availability.
