Backup personal files like names.nsf with R6?

Some years ago, after releasing R5 and planning RNext / R6, there were rumors that Lotus planned to add a backup function for personal files like desktop.dsk, names.nsf, notes.ini etc. Should be some kind of a replication to a domino server. Actually I still use R5 but I did not read anything about it anymore. I also found not information in R6 helpfile…? Does anyone know whether this is implemented? May be easy to check for someone with a R6 client…

Hi,

Not completly. But the new Roaming function (as of 6.0.1) does such kind of feature.

It only “backups” names.nsf, bookmark.nsf and optional journal.nsf. It also store the *.id of the user in the names so installation on more than one client is very easy.

It should be a good thing that the desktop would also replicate … but hey … isn’t time to get used to the bookmark structure ( ).

Search for Roaming…works perfect!

Greetz!
