Awareness in iNotes using Sametime Proxy - not working

I am having LTPA issues after following the “Lotus iNotes Sametime Proxy package” article on developerworks.

I have a Sametime 8.5.1 Proxy server running on RHEL and a Domino 8.5.2 server on Windows 2003 SE which is the LDAP and iNotes server. One Community server is running Sametime 8.5.1 on Domino 8.5.

I followed the instructions in the article but have a problem of awareness not working in iNotes, also I now cannot log into the stwebclient.

Firstly, the location for the stproxy directory in /opt/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/optionalLibraries doesn’t exist already although your article suggests that the directory needs to be copied and pasted over writing what’s there. Should the stproxy directory already exist before now?

I created the stproxy directory and copied the jars to the new directory and continued with restarting the STProxyServer.

After the server started I tried to log in to the stwebclient and on entering my password I am faced with another prompt and I cannot log in.

Looking in the systemout.log I see that there are errors referring to LTPA.

I extracted the files from my laptop (Windows) and copied them to my Linux server. I have also changed the directory and files permissions using chmod -R 755 just in case it may have been a permissions issue.

I can roll back the STProxyServer.ear to a copy I took prior to these changes and things work fine. Any help is appreciated.

Subject: Can someone please post an update on this??

I have the tech preview. I have inotes 8.5.2. I have ST proxy 8.5.1

AS the previous user, I installed all the stuff per the insturctions. It went fine. But it does not work. I get a windows login type pop up. Do I really have to use ST proxy 8.5 (instead of 8.5.1)?? If so how do I install an 8.5. proxy as the ST system console will nto let me install an 8.5 version. There option for it but since my ST community server is 8.5.1 it doesn’t let me create a deployment (or something).

I opened a PMR but they are clueless and said that the technology preview is just instructions to install a sametime proxy server and it won’t work until proxy server 8.5.2 is available. I think that is incorrect. Can someone who is involved with this “technology preview” please contact me and help me get this working? We are an iNotes-only shop and DYING to get off of stlinks.

The iNotes Sametime Proxy package update is only supported on Sametime Proxy 8.5.

Thanks Mark, I’ll apply it to an 8.5 server and test again. Any ideas of when this will be supported and which versions of Sametime, Sametime 8.5.3 for example?

Subject: Still not working in IE8 after reverting to Sametime 8.5

Hi,

I have reverted to Sametime 8.5 and followed the instructions in your Developerworks article and I still get errors in IE8 when accessing iNotes. I can now though log in to the Proxy web client something I couldn’t do when using ST 8.5.1.

When testing this with Firefox it works, any ideas why it’s not working with IE8??
